Can you keep your business number with an AI receptionist?
You pick your agent's number in the wizard. To keep the number your customers know, forward it to your agent.

Alony, an Australian AI phone agent platform, gives your agent its own Australian number: a local number by area code, or a mobile number on Starter and up. To keep the number your customers already know, forward it to your Alony number through your phone provider. Porting isn't part of the plans.
What does Alony do with phone numbers?
Each Alony agent gets its own Australian phone number. You pick it in the wizard (the guided setup), and it is the number callers dial to reach your agent.
- A local number by area code. This is a landline-style number, delivered over the internet (VoIP). It is available on every plan.
- A mobile number. Available on Starter (A$239 a month) and up.
How do I keep the number my customers already know?
Forward it. Leave your existing number with your current provider and set it to forward calls to your Alony number, all the time or only when you don't answer, depending on what your provider offers. Your customers keep dialling the number on your trucks, signs and Google listing, and your agent answers.
Alony doesn't set up the forwarding: you do it in your provider's settings, or ask them. Your provider may charge for forwarded calls.
Can Alony port my number instead?
Not on the standard plans. Porting means moving a number from your current carrier to Alony, and it can't be done through our setup, so it isn't part of any plan. If you need it, ask us about Enterprise or a custom build.
Which number option fits you?

| A new mobile number | Mobile number | Starter and up |
| To keep the number you have | Forward it to your Alony number through your provider | Every plan |
| To move your number to Alony | Porting, by arrangement | Ask us (Enterprise) |

What happens when a plan's minutes run out?
When a plan's minutes run out, Alony detaches the number from the agent, so calls to it do not connect until the next billing month or an upgrade. If you forward your main line to it, size the plan for your busiest month: see minutes and plans.
Common questions
Can I forward my current business number to Alony?
Yes, if your phone provider lets you. Set up call forwarding (sometimes called diverting) from your existing number to your Alony number, in your provider's settings or by asking them. Alony doesn't set it up for you, and your provider may charge for forwarded calls.
Can I get a mobile number for my agent?
Yes, from Starter (A$239 a month) and up. Lite gets a local number by area code. A local number is a landline-style or internet-phone (VoIP) number.
Can Alony port my existing number?
Not on the standard plans. Porting can't be done through our setup, so it isn't part of any plan. If you need it, ask us about Enterprise or a custom build.
What happens to calls if my plan runs out of minutes?
The number is detached from the agent, so calls to it do not connect until the next billing month or until you upgrade. If you forward your main line to it, those calls stop connecting too. Alony emails the owner at 80%, 90% and 95% of the minutes, and again when the agent is paused.
Is there a setup fee?
No, except on Enterprise. Plans are month to month and you can cancel any time. Prices include GST.
